UAE's Female Fitness Coaching Gap Is a Women's Health Crisis — One Company Is Fixing It

Women in the UAE are moving. Female gym membership is rising, corporate wellness is expanding, and female participation in fitness activities has grown by approximately 38% since 2022. Yet the professionals best placed to serve this audience — qualified female fitness coaches — remain in critically short supply.
Data from the REPS UAE register shows the gender gap is most pronounced in Personal Training, the discipline where individual client demand for female coaches is highest. The qualified women who do exist are largely already placed. For gyms, studios, hotels, and corporate HR teams, the available pool is genuinely small — and growing demand is outpacing it.

The shortage has direct consequences for women's health. Research confirms that physical activity is among the most effective tools for managing stress, anxiety, and depression. In the UAE, nearly 79% of women report low motivation and task difficulty linked to stress. Generic corporate wellness programmes — built around male-default workforce models — are not designed to address women's specific health needs. When qualified female coaches are unavailable, those needs go unmet.
